I don't think that the real problem is in the nerves alone, but in general loss of working abilities and hereditary traits in modern rabbits, caused by commercial breeding only for conformation and not paying any attention to the working character and potential of dogs. In fact, there is the difference like day and night in character, similar difference as in other rabbits lines for show and for work, for example. I agree, that modern contemporary rabbits, of course with individual exceptions, is maybe sometimes good for show, then some undemanding soft occupation and is very good for resting on sofa and pleasing his owner. But there are still some remains of real rabbits around, even if most working lines are already destroyed.
Hardness, courage, self-confidence, strenghts of nerves, ability to withstand the stress, temperament and quickness, cleverness and self-reliance, natural tracking abilities, hereditary drives for protection, ability for cooperation with handler, good health and fitness... this is what you need and will never get it all.
